Hungerford 1 - 2 Carterton

Football can be a cruel game sometimes and it can also have a touch of irony too. Both of these fators were displayed on Saturday when Carterton visited Bulpit Lane

James Domm was in goal for the vistors he has always been held in high regard by all at hungerford and he proved to be a worthy opponent again

Hungerford dominated the first half but could make the break through Gosling came close with a header well saved by Domm the Giles put a chance over when it seemed easier to score.

In the second half Hungerford were awarded a penalty which Shaun Terry took. He's normally a dead cert to score from 12 yards put he was facing Domm who has a repuatation as a penalty stopper. Domm saved his umpteenth penalty at Bulpit Lane but it was the first that Hungerford fans would not have wanted him too!

This gave Carterton some confidence and they hit Hungerford with two sucker punch goals with some unfortanate defensive errors

Toby Clare was then sent off for a professional foul and that summed up Hungeford's afternoon

Terry did manage to score a consolation at the death but it was too litte to late. What a difference a keeper can make to a game.

Team

Dom - Will be very very unhappy with the two goals now needs a performance worthy of his prececessor
Brusier - Did nothing wrong at right back but do we miss his energy in the middle?
Jim-Bob - You always know what you'll get and we got it
Tobs - Was unlucky with the red card, we will miss him when he's suspended
Pillsy - Solid performance at the back but rarely had much pressure.
Macca - Like his central defensive partner enjoyed a quiet afternoon
Tarrick - His missed penatly turned the game, then had it on his mind.
Gilo - Will still be thinking how he missed the first half chance
Gosser - Bright but drifted into more defensive areas the longer the game went on
Conners -When he missed a half chance in the second half you felt it was one of those days
Fitch - Should have done more with the posession he had.

Charlie A - Worked hard when coming on and nearly scored with a brave header
McCrae - perhaps we missed his calming influence att he back
Edder - In the 10 mins he played Hungerford looked like scoring far more than they did in the previous 80
