Hungerford 1 - 2 North Leigh

Twas a bit of a bizarre game where although we lost it is not that much of an issue. The floodlight Cup (which also has never been a happy event for Hungerford) is not really top of the prority list.

Hungerford started off sloppy and gave away two quick goals to a fast paced pass and move North Leigh side. Perhaps Hungerford were expecting another Wokingham type team to turn up roll over and die but that was never going to happen.

Hungerford grabbed one back from a Ben Fitch cross that was fired in hard and low and Ian Concannon bundled over the line. Chances came and went for both teams and the game was a good advert for football at this level as it was being played in the right way and in good spirits too.

The forthcoming league game will be more of an insight into both teams though as I'm sure they will both be up for it.

Team

Dominic - Got a hand to the first goal but couldn't keep it out.
Pillsy - At fault for the 2nd goal and didn't get forward until the second half
Jim-Bob - Should stop shooting on sight and had a poor game distributiuon wise
Tobs - Things he was trying were not coming off
Macca - Calm as ever working with a new defensive partner
Bedders - Learning about playing in this team & with new defenders
Bruiser - Perhaps his energy was needed more centrally
Millsy - His queitest game so far but tidy on the ball.
Gosser - When gosser drifts so does his performance
Conners - Did what he was there to do score!
Fitchy - Much better performance - perhaps needs to vary his runs more and come off that wing sometimes

SUBS
Shandy - Came on as centre forward and at last someone clattered into a keeper from a Hungerford cross!
