Hungerford reached the last 32 of the Vase for the first time since the 91/92 season thanks to a smash and grab away win at Plymouth Parkway.
On a wide pitch that cut up and proved to be a difficult playing surface for Hungerford the game turned into a battle and a physical encouter as Hungerford failed to ignite their free flowing football.
The game started with a foul on Toby Clark that was probably the worst challenge of the game, it went unpunished as did a similar foul on Jamie Gosling, yet surprise surprise the first Hungerford foul by Bedwell & the yellow card appeared. You could tell it was going to be a frustrating afternoon
Saying that Adam Pilling should have really seen red for a moment of madness late in the first half when raising his arms to a Parkway striker.
Hungerford wasted a few chances and on other days shot from Terry, Concannon, , fitch, Gosling and Edney could have proved more testing for the Parkway keeper. Dominic Green at the other end was dealling with a lot of long balls and deep crosses but didn't have to pull off any saves.
Hungerford's break through goal came on 70 minutes Gosling at last found some space and controll in the midfield and layed a superb through ball into Fitch who took it around the keeper confidently and passed into an empty net.
A late rally by Parkway was snuffed out by Hungerford thanks to a good save by Green and a hack off the line by Bedwell.
Not the prettiest specatacle you'll see from Hungerford by job done in the end.
